Retainers

Weiler can supply all the equipment necessary to securely retain and hold an inflatable seal or extrusion in place. Several retention systems are available, so please consult a Weiler engineer with the best option for retaining your inflatable seal application.

Rounded and square corners may require tooling & extra time.

Clip & Tab Retainers

The inflatable seal is snaked through a series of staggered fixed clips. This allows the seal to be easily replaced by loosening the tabs that compress the base of the seal. This system only works with inflatable seals that have a base, or lip that the tab can clamp on to without impeding or impacting the inflatable bulb of the seal.

Cartridge

Cartridge retainers partially or fully contain an inflatable bladder or seal. They are the most effective way to hold a seal or bladder in place during operation. Depending on the configuration, a retainer cartridge can greatly improve the service life of an inflatable seal.

Rails

Another way to retain an inflatable seal section. Works well for long straight sections where you might want to prevent a seal from sagging.

U-Channels

Practical and easy to install. U-Channels are easily found at multiple suppliers and very cost effective. The seal is essentially glued into the cartridge or held in place with bolts protruding from the base of the seal or bladder.
